Omega Trail - Chapter One Beginning

The iron wheels trundled along a gravel pathway, crushing freshly fallen leaves and dislodging loose stones. A granite faced figure sat upon the driver’s seat, his eyes hidden underneath a low hanging cowl. From within the drapes of his heavy cloak two waxen yellow hands gripped tightly to worn leather reins, which snaked along to two imperious stallions that pulled the carriage forward with graceful ease. Flanking this grim procession was a dense forest, overgrown with ancient trunks and innumerable shrubs. Faintly glowing eyes tracked the carriage’s progress before their owners scuttled and scurried away. Inside the plain box of stained oak and frosted glass sat a scrawny child, hugging himself close and shrinking away from the chilling air.

Willing Enthralment

The finale for series 7 of Doctor Who has now aired! I myself have experienced a whole host of different feelings during and since watching it. The full range of emotional strings were plucked as this series came to a close and, almost as expected, the Internet has also exploded in a similar fashion.
Of course, as is customary on Internet forums and other such sites, there has been feedback of a less positive variety. The criticism that the plot was 'obvious' and 'underwhelming' and other such less tasteful phrases has drawn me to conclude I have quite a skill I like to call 'Willing Enthralment'
This skill grinds down to a simple ability to completely immerse myself in the story as it is being played out. As I watch a film, tv episode or read a book I ignore any attempt by my brain to analyse what is happening and simply indulge the mystery, however vague, that the creator is trying to produce. In fact I often do this with any form of entertainment because it leads to, in my opinion, a far greater emotional response, whether that be sadness or joy or (in the case of Doctor Who) a multitude of many.
It also makes the story you're involved in more enjoyable because you're not trying to beat the writer to the conclusion. You simply allow them to flow you there at the correct pace and let you see every detail of their creation in full glory.
So to those out there who jump ahead and make it their mission to find the whole plot before the show has even begun, relax for just once and give Willing Enthralment a go. It works for me exceptionally well so why shouldn't it work for you?

Thank you for reading and have a nice day :)

Unwelcome Surprise

Only a few moments ago I was happily walking my friends dog, musing the deeper mysteries of life and wondering whether I would have time for a cup of tea when I returned home.
This was all interrupted rather rudely by the incessant buzzing of a full swarm of bees! At first I didn't know what to do! I mean, how often do you see bees, let alone a whole swarm of them, out and about in the suburbs?
Rather wisely on my part I fled the scene and found a different route to walk Roger the Dog (who didn't seem phased by the abrupt change of direction.)
So that's my daring encounter with an entire swarm (it was huge!) of bees that I certainly have never seen before!

The inhabitants are fenced in like animals and every day Jason must struggle to understand this crazed madhouse he is now a part of. His only friend and ally is the mysterious Sebastian, a veteran of this world and Jason's hope for finding a way out. All is going well until grisly murders begin and Jason becomes the prime suspect. With mob rule the only law in this land, Jason must battle against the clock and his own brain to clear his name or else be lost in the madness of the Omega Trail.

Well Here Goes

Well Here Goes

I've never done something like this before so I hope I do it right. Welcome everyone out there on the wide world of the Internet! From here I'll be posting various pieces; some shall be my comments on life and stuff that's going on in the world, others shall be my incessant fanning (partially invented word there) over the various shows I've watched and am currently watching, and others still shall be parts of a story I am writing at current.

So without further ado let us begin!
